McAllister Park is one of San Antonio’s most beloved green spaces—and FOMP assists in keeping it that way thanks to the dedication of volunteers. As an all-volunteer nonprofit, the Friends of McAllister Park relies entirely on the time, care, and passion of individuals just like you to step up and lend a hand at the park.

March is almost here and that means the McAllister Park will be greening up soon and lots of folks will be out enjoying some of the best weather of the year. March is also a busy time for the organization as we are involved with a couple of big events in the park!

On Saturday morning as I drove into the park to set up for our monthly litter pickup, the phrase "feels like a hug from a canopy of trees" came to my mind. When people tell me stories of how they enjoy McAllister Park, a common phrase so often wraps up the end of their story, "it's my happy place!"

Astronomy in the Park is back! Join the San Antonio League of Sidewalk Astronomers (SALSA) every Wednesday during fall and winter months for stargazing and celestial viewing at the park.
