The Wonders of McAllister Park Nature Walk with Texas Master Naturalist, Bob Morris

Join Texas Master Naturalist, and retired forester, Mr. Bob Morris on a slow, guided educational walk to learn about the natural features that make McAllister Park a truly special place. Bob shares insights and knowledge gained over 25 years in natural resource management and outdoor education. This casual walk will range in topics related to native plants, geology, hydrology, and land stewardship.

WHAT: Walking distance will be approximately 1 mile on mostly flat, dirt trails with some rugged roots and rocks. The trail is predominantly shaded however you should bring your own water, sun protection, insect repellent, as needed. 

WHEN: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Please arrive 15 minutes early to find parking as the park can be very busy on weekend mornings. The walk will leave promptly at 9AM. See dates below. 


WHERE: McAllister Park, 13102 Jones Maltsberger Rd, San Antonio, TX 78247. Meet at Pavilion #3 (Optimist Pavilion)  Directions from Jones Maltsberger: Enter park. At first stop sign turn left onto Buckhorn Lane.  At next stop sign turn left into parking lot.  Head to pavilion.
 
WHO: The activity is suitable for ages 12 & up. Please, no dogs.
